It's been a very mild Autumn. Almost time to legally change the summer tires on the car for the winter. I believe it's required from the first of December in Sweden. Even though the weather is mild. But, before you know it you might end up with an instant freeze while driving in the morning and that will make it very slippery.
This week has been wonderful! Lot's of new discoveries and new ideas that I wish to craft for you. It's been a Leifur and Bogart period and you will see more of those styles in the coming weeks. I am also working on a couple of Bogart alternatives that will be very interesting. Give that 2 weeks or so.
What's happening in the world of hats? I am not quite sure. Felts are still difficult to get your hands on. I suppose that factories have not sorted out the shortage of fur, as trading between countries are still restricted. I am being asked by several new hatmakers regarding felt supply, and there is no easy answer to it. Wait it out and work on something else in the meantime. I know that many are impacted by this and I wouldn't be surprised if this leads to many closing down and/or restricting their services. Let's hope that the new year will bring some better news. Hufvud will stay creative and find a way to still be around. Things are happening fast and it's jus around the corner.
Thank you for all your orders! Happy to stay busy and craft amazing hats for you. Have a wonderful Sunday!
Regards,
Mikael Einarsson | HUFVUD HATMAKER | Lund (not for long), Sweden.
