What is all this about? A month of silence? Well, I am undergoing a 3 week education to become a fireman at my local station. In the small village where I live and work is a small local fire department with a fire truck and a water tank truck. Not sure it it's called that internationally, but you get my meaning. In order to keep this station alive, they need fireman to be on standby who live nearby. I happen to live 1 - 2 min away which allows me to be in the station within the 5 min mark which is required in order to put out fires. I joined up last autumn and I am now attending the training course to be certified this month.
I will be able to work on hats during the evenings an early mornings. But that is about it. Shipping of hat boxes will also be delayed as I will only be able to send out boxes over weekends. I expect at least 1 month of silence, with no blog posts or little to no updates from my side. I will try to post an update to let you know that I am still working. I will still answer emails within 24h. There you go, it was not something more serious than that. We need firemen out there taking care of accidents and what better way to help than that. I do have a bad back and weak legs, so we will see how long I last.
This week I completed two very special Western Upcycle projects. One of them, the silverbelly hat, was a custom order. The other Pecan colored hat is available in the Marketplace of this site. Also, I revisited a very special hat which also was a custom order, GORM Fedora. 70mm wide ribbon on that hat. Just absolutely amazing looking hat. Only at Hufvud Hatmaker I might add.
