The last day of 2023 is here! Another year to close the book on. I have a lot to be thankful for. 2023 not only brought massive change to Hufvud and to my personal life but it also gave further opportunities for both business and personal growth. Earlier this year, February 14th to be exact, we moved from the city to the countryside to heal ourselves from years of stress working in various industries and for living in a very unsuitable environment. Hufvud needed a place to grow, to finally make use of the potential that this very small company has to offer.
The financial numbers of this year is a testament to how great of an investment this has been. Even thought the year has been very hectic, with renovations/ preparations going on for Hufvud, it has been a very successful year. The final quarter of this year really reaped the benefits from all hard work earlier on. Working in a dedicated space which has made production much more efficient and much more pleasant to work in, makes all the difference. A lot of personal time was dedicated to preparing the new studio, which I am yet to show photos of in more detail. I have even more tools coming in the first quarter of the year which will enhance the function and overall look of the space even further. Very exciting indeed.
I am expecting even more change to happen during 2024. It might be too soon to tell, but I am looking in to start to teach Hatmaking. It will most definitely be a paid course which will take you from the basics of crafting a hat by hand to the more advance stage of finishing details and finally a Masters course to put everything into a complete perspective. Everything from History to various techniques. Not only would this be a course in crafting hats, but also a kickstart into starting a business as a Hatmaker. Instead of going the long way of discovering everything I have discovered in the past 7 years, one would learn the knowledge that I have for a fair compensation. Let's see where this goes and how much interest there is out there.
The continued development of Hufvud is the main focus for 2024. Customers have already visited the studio and I am expecting to receive more visits in the spring. It is fantastic to talk about hat with someone who loves them and wears them frequently. It's a wonderful exchange for a craftsman to hear what his clients know about hats what they are looking for in person.
To everyone out there, customer or reader. Thank you for all your support and encouragements in 2023. I am happy to be your Hatmaking craftsman. Couldn't be that without you. Happy New Years 2024! Love.
Regards,
Mikael Einarsson | HUFVUD HATMAKER | Askeröd, Sweden.
